Symbolism
The courage of recognition: the winged lion. In symbolism, the winged lion is the symbol of Michael slaying the dragon. No more impulsiveness, no more hubris and no more unfinished urge to act. The lion has risen above his old nature and dares to look down from his spiritual height on the struggle, the chaos and the bitterness.
The winged lion overcomes the greatest dangers effortlessly. Inspired by a spiritual purpose, the winged lion defies all material hindrances and is never held back by ridicule and hatred. He does not let the world dictate any laws, but strictly adheres to his own laws containing innate principles. He is not teachable by third parties, although he is willing to learn continuously.
The winged lion has the patience. Patience counts with a long breath, the great distances in which the lion spreads its wings. Before the lion realizes his royal lineage, he must first have lived through the jungle of the lower qualities, to feel how a heart can bleed, a mind can shatter, break a will, and pride can punish itself.
The winged lion is the spiritual leader. He has a knowledge, a knowledge that is hidden. He possesses the wings of intuition and unlocks the knowledge To realize this no road will be too narrow for him nor any danger too risky for him, for he is carried by the courage of recognition. On the wings of intuition and knowledge he chooses flight to heaven.
